The cargo-style thigh pockets seem practical in theory, but in practice with tighter MTB trousers, accessing them while riding is nearly impossible without pulling your pants down. You'll have to stop to use them. ### The Big Drawback: Not for Multi-Day Trips Here's the catch. For a single day or a weekend, these bibs are fantastic. You get protection and comfort in one package, and you don't have to worry about forgetting your back protector. But on longer bike holidays, you're unlikely to wear the same bib shorts for several days in a row. They'll need washing, and you'll probably want a standalone back protector you can swap between different shorts.
