# Kickstarter Placements
Our programme exists to improve the racial and social diversity of the environmental sector, and we are striving to remove the barriers that have prevented change. All our host organisations would love to receive applications from young people who are from BAME backgrounds, young people that live in economically less-well-off areas of the UK, and non-graduates.
We have an incredibly wide range of opportunities available – from research to engineers, marketing to operations, fundraising to campaigns. Our placements cover the breadth of talent and skills found in across our sector.
Successful applicants will receive a full programme of training, mentoring and support through Race for Nature, ensuring you receive a warm welcome and a supportive experience throughout your placement. Please do apply!
All our placements are funded by the Government's Kickstart scheme, so are *only* open to people aged 16-24 that are Universal Credit. **Applicants *must* ask to be referred to the role by their Job Centre Work Coach before applying.** Applicants will need to apply to the host organisations (rather than Race for Nature) via the application process outlined by their Work Coach. All our placements are of six-month duration and all will be paid at the Real Living Wage (£9.50, or £10.85 if in London). All roles are open until they are filled – there are no deadlines.
